How will opening TASE at Eastgate work?

Thank you to all who have been in touch with questions regarding the opening of TASE at Eastgate. Mark Allen has attached some of the questions that have been asked along with his responses. We hope this will help in easing some of the concerns you may have about the opening of our new academy. Please see FAQ’s here.

The school will be built on a large site at Keresforth Close, just off the Broadway main road. The postcode is S70 6RS.

We are delighted that our temporary accommodation for the first two years of opening will be at Eastgate House. There will be significant refurbishment and redecoration completed before the school opens making it a more bespoke setting for our children. The addition of bespoke science, art and design classrooms will enable us to match our curriculum offer and deliver outstanding learning for our children. All of our sport, P.E and extra-curricular activities are held at the Honeywell Sports Centre.

By the very latest the permanent building will be ready for the students as they begin year 9. This means that the founding year group will have at least 3 years in the new building with its excellent state of the art facilities. The team at the trust and the DfE will of course endeavour to bring forward the opening if at all possible and are working hard on developing the plans right now!

Yes, this is an exciting and unique opportunity for your child to start their secondary education in a small and nurturing environment amongst their peers. We will be admitting 180 students in our first year and then will grow steadily year by year. We will challenge all students to reach the highest in academic standards and to take on leadership and mentor roles for future students who will join the school after them. Our first year group will be the founding members of the school and will be a very special year group for us and the history of the school.

Our extensive extra-curricular programme Involve will ensure that a diverse and exciting range of opportunities are available for your child, these will include STEM, Debate, Sports, Photography, Creative Writing and many more.

We will be hosting two open evening events at the Eastgate site in late September and early October for our 2022 cohort. This will include a tour of the provision, a chance to speak to staff and students and a presentation from the Principal. Dates and times will be confirmed in the coming weeks, please keep a look out on our social media pages.

Trinity Multi-Academy Trust we are committed to offering the right levels and balance of challenge and support for each and every young person. We recognise that each young person is different and that as a parent/carer you need to know that the needs of your child can be supported both academically and pastorally. We have a committed team of teachers and support staff who will ensure that this is the case, however, we encourage you to get in touch with us for a personal conversation with the Principal about your child’s specific needs and interests. Please do not hesitate to email us, leave a contact number and we will get back to you shortly.
